MYTH: Your Back Is "OUT"
Make no mistake here, it's NOT.
Let's discuss why:
Firstly, the spine is reinforced and supported by a series of thick, strong ligaments, connective tissues and bony connections.
Each level is separated by a robust yet flexible disc. It's a complex designed to protect our nervous system and provide a centrepiece for human movement.
In short - it's DESIGNED not to budge. Particularly in such a common, fickle sense as relatively non-life threatening back pain.
If your knee cap pops "out", you're most likely looking at a long and arduous rehab back to full function + stability.
If your shoulder pops "out", you've done well if you can avoid serious damage, future surgery + a long rehab.
But if our back is "out" why are both the consequences + rehab time much less sinister despite how critical a healthy spine is?
At this point it's important to note that this feeling is completely valid even if the mechanisms behind it don't relate.
Clinically it seems that this feeling has a lot to do with dysfunctional joints.
If overloaded, spinal joints can be forced to adaptively stiffen and prompt associated muscles to tighten.
This is a protective mechanism - one that won't do wonders for anyone wanting to then move and use their back.
This restriction and irritation creates the blocking/catching/jamming sensation.
In a nutshell this feeling is often a less sinister mechanical one. It is NOT a disc or vertebrae getting dislodged. Physiologically it can't happen, at least not without some permanent life-altering consequences.
So next time you feel like something is "out" use a ball to try and release some of that mechanical restriction.
If you can hit the right spot you might shift that sensation of something being "out" in real time.
Finally, pay close attention to your postural habits. These things don't happen by accident. - Grant.

So after a series of unfortunate events with the original motor from the Golf, we had to buy another engine, and after a series of further unfortunate events, we needed to buy oversized pistons for the new engine. Now that we're back on track...LETS DO THIS!
