So I took a break from @lawbreakersofficial for a bit hoping they would get some stuff sorted out with the game I.E. Balancing, Class Limits, Voice Chat, Tutorials and a bunch more stuff. I turned it on today after the newest update so I could play and record footage for a review video. They've finally fixed some of these issues which is great. Problem is after trying to find a match on all the servers with the shortest wait time of 3:34 seconds all the way up to 18 minutes I gave up. Seriously check the top right of the pic. Tried for nearly and hour while editing my Deathnote review...What good are updates when you can't even find a match. This game had a lot of promise. I'm glad I supported BossKey and hope that my purchase and all the other people who bought the game can help fund another title, preferably something with a single player campaign in addition to multiplayer. But that would most likely be years away. The problem with LawBreakers is the player base is dwindling. Well one of many problems...They need to do a free weekend with skin bonuses or something for people who decide to stay in and purchase the game. I guess I'll just have to use footage from the beta and the earlier matches after launch to do the review video...
People playing the hohum Destiny 2 are reporting multiple issues. You mean the least second beta which could barely give enough time for the devs to do anything didn't help? What a shocker. On top of that their servers are confirmed down. Even sweeter is the fact that the game server issues are actually affecting all other PSN services world wide from downloads to accessing friends lists to just checking account info! This is what happens when devs launch a game that wasn't ready and players still plunk down their hard earned cash on it straight away...Will either ever learn their lesson?
Welcome Destiny 2 to the ever growing pile of Pay 2 Win garbage coming out of so called "AAA" aka Triple A game development studios. No longer is it good enough to spend 60 dollars in the US or around 75 dollars in Qatar on the game. Now you have to purchase loot boxes and other microtransaction bulls**t to keep up with the other players online. There is a reason you haven't seen coverage of these games on my pages. I don't support them or their greedy developers. You shouldn't be either. If you want to do some cosmetic loot crap like Overwatch or LawBreakers fine. But when said loot gives you an advantage over other players who didn't but it then you are crossing a line. The only thing that can keep companies from crossing that line are the players like us not buying the game or St least damn sure not buying the microtransaction crap which is basically just legal gambling as you never know what you are going to get. You can also leave unfavorable reviews and comments on digital storefronts, publisher social media content and stick it to then in AMAs. If you don't be ready for this problem to keep growing. I'll not be purchasing any of these 3 games. Instead use that money and buy some cool indie games. #TheGeekyAmreeki#TQGproductions#gamer#gaming#videogames#ps4#playstation#doha#qatar#movies#cinema#tvshows#shadowofmordor#shadowofwar#lordoftherings#lotr#wb#starwars#battlefront2#battlefront#ea#destiny#destiny2#bungie#microtransactions
I'll admit it. I am an unabashed fan of the found footage genre. But only when done well. I've seen everything from a creepy stalker, kids becoming super heroes and a killer parasite to a serial killer, time traveling teens and a team of explorers seeking treasure all come off as pretty realistic and tense. But for every one of those there is a paranormal activity knock off or a Gallows that tends to give the genre a bad name. Yes they are cheaper to make and many rely on way too many jump scares. But there is some great fun to be had with this genre.
What are your thoughts on found footage?
DOTA 2 is currently getting review bombed on Steam by people like me who are pissed off at Valve for not going forward with Half Life 3, Left for Dead 3 or Portal 3. Especially Half Life 3. Basically ever since steam and DOTA really took off, Valve has been rolling in the dough and shrugged off all the players who helped get them on their feet and supported them and their real games. Mobas are fine but it shouldn't stop you from delivering things you promised. And then they even pissed off DOTA players with a lazy card game release coming soon.
@wbgames isn't content with making Shadow of War pay to win with their SINGLE PLAYER loot box system and grind you down grind fest it will surely be to push players to drop even more money. WB wasn't satisfied with getting the hard earned 60+ dollars you've already spent on the game or the cash you'll have to drop to get certain loot box types, they've gone full sell out mode with a marketing deal with Totinos! You know people are going to buy a shit ton of pizza rolls to try to get loot boxes. At least you get some food with this money unlike the legal gambling racket that is the loot box system so many games are using to rob players of their money!
Full disclosure though, I do think the cheese pizza rolls are amazeballs. Not those oil drenched pepperoni ones. Also #BoycottShadowOfWar ...
@netflix new show Disjointed looked like it could be something funny. Kathy Bates as a baked owner of a medical weed shop. Then I saw Chuck Lorre was behind it and got worried. I was still hopeful because the first few seasons of Big Bang were really good with hardcore geek inside jokes. Then it went all main stream and vanilla. Unfortunately disjointed starts out that way. I couldn't even get through half the show. It's just done so flat and the audience laughter doesn't help. If they had gone single cam style like the office and parks and rec and been more subversive it woukd have killed. This is any sitcom on TV only with a potty mouth and penchant for drugs. You'd have to be high to even watch and enjoy this show. I didn't laugh once. At least The Ranch has some heart, a likeable cast and occasional stuff that makes you actually laugh a little. But I digress. Watch this show if you are the type of average doofus who loves the same old sitcom shit.
Would years ago today on eif the most important first person shooters ever blasted into the scene. The single player was alright. The graphics were passable. But the thing that made this game such a phenomenon that would go onto influence everything from Halo to Overwatch is the multiplayer. Every single shift at the fire department in the evening after training, working out and dinner all us fire fighters would go into out meeting room and throw this onto the projector. Loser had to sit out while the next player rotated in. I was a beast and never gave up my controller. Oh and the rumble packs were the best! Did you play this? Were you even born yet? Halt and Catch Fire is back baby. Season 4 is the final season though. This is one of those shows that when it hits Netflix people are going to say "Shit I wish I'd watched it so it would have been on longer. This has consistently been one of the best dramas on TV for a few years. The show is about the birth and evolution of tech from the early 80s to the 90s. More pointedly PC, Gaming, Internet Security, the World Wide Web, Search Engines and more. Sounds like it could be boring right? But it is intense. Get caught up and then watch the time jumping season premier. Oh this is the intro which I think is one of the dope at ever. Especially for geeks like me.
