I think it's important to know that your pets can get depressed too. Leo hasn't been himself since his two pals passed away so yesterday's hike was for Leo. I was excited to be shooting some fall colours but I mostly made sure that Leo was having a good day. He has never known a life without another dog at home. It's been heartbreaking to watch but yesterday he finally had his usually wiggle and was chasing all the creatures. Nature can be helpful for your pets just as much as you. This gives you a reason to bring them on your adventures (as if you need a reason really).
Sometimes you get your friends to follow you down a road that you hope leads to where the caves that they're also going to follow you to. Sometimes those days turn into the most fun and memorable. You end up rock climbing and going on a path that isn't a real path. You joke about how this is how the horror films start. Thanks for coming on the memorable "rock hike"
This little piggy went to a concert on a Tuesday (because FOMO)... and is not dying on Wednesday (despite ripping numerous whiskey shots)🤘🏼💯
In other news, the @bts.bighitofficial cameo might have turned me in to a KPOP fan.
Both of these things are surprising, I know.
Tonight I wandered around the neighborhood and was reminded how much I LOVE covering ground in a place for the first time.
Now excuse me while I dive head first into the most beautiful love affair - Love for this city... lust for life.
I finally got to go jump in a lake which has been all I've wanted all summer! I spent way more time on trails, which I loved this summer but sometimes you just need to jump in a body of water.
I wish I was scoping out waterfalls with Jordan instead of working this long weekend but responsibilities call us again. This is from Jone's Falls in Owen Sound. It was a gorgeous morning hike last weekend when we were camping. I highly recommend it if you're ever in the area.
Now that I finally don't have a headache I can upload and edit photos and videos from our weekend adventures!! I must say it is really cool to have friends who are up for camping pretty far for the weekend and want to adventure around. This weekend we got to check out flower pot island finally. We aren't used to being in Tobermory during high peaks times but it was beautiful nonetheless.
My dad asked me if I was going to get a "big girl job" now that I'm done school. I don't think he's overly thrilled that my answer was not right now. I have a job that I'm enjoying and I'm not in a rush to work a 9-5 when my schedule currently allows me to go do things I might not have time to do otherwise.
Views like this make long hikes so worth it. More from my Lion's Head hike because this week and weekend have been full of work and errands. I finally get to go camping next weekend for the whole thing!
I might not get to go on adventures every day but I truly think it's important to make time in my busy life to do the things I love to do because for so long I really just couldn't. This summer has been about getting outside more and picking up my camera again.
Kirsten's sister was the youngest female to conquer Everest, pretty amazing & inspiring! Her goal is to tackle 7 Summits. I have a habit of writing down my goals or things I would like to complete within the year. It's because I need to be motivated, a reason to get up (I have lazy days), and to constantly grow, educate, and to embrace life.
It was really funny trying to explain that all the trails we were hiking were beautiful to my niece because she just wasn't having it. Every time I looked up I noticed the beauty of the trees but I guess it's each to their own.
"And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." - Roald Dahl. 💜✨ ... I think moments like these are necessary to keep yourself humble and as a reminder that we are just a small part of something truly magnificent. 📷: @laurabarclayphotography •
I started my week going out on a trail with two of my sisters, my niece and two nephews. It's really fun trying to say all trails are beautiful to my niece and nephew. I at least got my nephew interested in the grasshoppers along the way.
