Summary is eat "whatever" u like in controlled portions!
🍚170 calories + 140 calories🍚
🤔The verdict has already been in for quite some time. White rice is unhealthy and the "bad" one, whilst brown rice is the clean and good choice, right? Not so fast‼️
White rice is actually a fine thing to include in your diet, as part of a balanced meal.
Has LESS calories than brown rice..
🍚Now it's true, White rice has a higher GI value than brown rice and it’s typically the first reason given for why brown rice is the better choice. Brown rice definitely has an advantage over white in terms of GI.
‼️But, what should be doubted is if this matters for some people. And in most cases, it doesn’t. Here is why.
☝️The GI value of a food is determined when it’s eaten in isolation after an overnight fast. As in, how this will affect your blood sugar when it’s the FIRST and ONLY thing you’re eating after a fast.
❌And this is where GI can be borderline useless to determine if a food is “good” vs “bad.”
As, are most people eating after an overnight fast? Probably not. Are most people eating in isolation? Probably not.
🚫In the real world, the average person is unlikely to only eating white rice and nothing else (yet this is the scenario the glycemic index is based on).
So, when other stuff is eaten with it like usual, it changes everything👉And, the protein, fat, fiber, etc. in those other foods can reduce the GI of the entire meal to the point where there may be no meaningful difference between whether white rice or brown rice was a part of it.
✅So which one is better?
It’s a tie really, best broken based on your own personal needs + preferences. They both have benefits and nutrients. And as you can see, white rice contains LESS calories. Eat the one you like best and have less issues with eating.

#wcw -514lbs combined naturally with diet/exercise since last year with this amazing woman! @transforming_noelle and I decided we were fedup with living a life on the sidelines. We both weighed over 400lbs and our weight held us back in every aspect of our life. Every single day was a physical and mental struggle. We struggled to physically get around, physically breathe, climb stairs, walk, and mentally every day to even get out of bed and enough energy to be motivated for the day was a challenge. We spent over half of our life being a prisoner in our own bodies, and now are free. We will never take another day for granted, and know that because we were fedup enough to fight back, we saved our lives and kicked obesitys ass. Anyone can change their life the same way that we have in just over a year. You are capable of more than you can imagine. Decide you are fedup and fight for youre life, youre worth it. Start today!

Boa tarde Meus amores!😍❤
