So I wanted calamari, and I wanted a dip. So all I did was add our Lemon & Black Pepper seasoning to some mayonnaise and voila. A banging MealWiz dip to accompany my craving. Did I mentioned that our seasonings make pretty amazing dips? 😌👌🏿
My plan this week? To teleport myself to Firenze, Italy. I am still figuring out how to do it. So, in the meantime, I'll be in the kitchen making my Italian Goat Cheese Dip with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto and fresh basil with a bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano. How can we avoid lectin poisoning? Lectin proteins were first discovered in the 1800s in castor beans. Lectin proteins are a natural compound found throughout the food supply, but its concentrated in whole grains, beans and some fruits and vegetables. How harmful are dietary lectins? Many lectins are non-toxic, such as those found in tomatoes, lentils, chickpeas and other common foods. But even if there are toxic lectins, like those in kidney beans, they get completely destroyed by proper cooking. You will need to eat kidney beans raw in order to feel sick. But who eats kidney beans raw? They are as hard as a rock lol. Either soak the kidney beans first and cook it for at least 15 min or just cook them for 45 mins and you will get rid of all the lectins. Legumes are good for us. Legumes are associated with a longer lifespan, lower risk of colorectal cancer and prevent type 2 diabetes🌱 @luca_fithealth
