I read a study that analyzed our behavior with that of the bacteria in our gut! It turns out that there is a nerve that connects our intestines with our brain. Our gut and the bacteria in it can influence our behavior, including anger, calmness, etc! •
Scientists took naturally angry mice and gave them the gut bacteria from naturally calm mice. Guess what? 😱 The angry mice changed behavior to calm! •
Moreover, they studied depression and anxiety in women as influenced by gut bacteria. They gave one group simple yogurt with probiotics and another group got placebo. The group that ingested a probiotic had calmer more relaxed responses to stimuli. •
Our gut bacteria has a big effect on us! I eat cultured dairy everyday! Don't avoid it because you might bloat from lactose! Actually, most of the cultured bacteria processes the lactose, so there is very minimal amounts of lactose present.

•Looking back on the left picture from years ago I never thought I'd be someone completely different on the right. Believe it or not these pictures are a good 10 years apart. Yup. I was a mere 19 in the left picture and thought I was sooooo skinny. Lmao. Whatttt?!? That was my confident look back then, drinking alcohol like it was my diet, it basically was .. and then not eating barely anything the next day day because I had no knowledge of nutrition nor fitness back then and wanted to loose those lbs I packed on from the night before partying. I relied on my still then teenage metabolism (or so I thought) to keep me skinny. Or "skinny fat".... man am I happy I discovered the beauty of lifting and healthy eating. 💪🏼
-- The right picture of me now... I am more confident then ever. Yes I have my off days from prep where I just want to swim in a margarita or devour a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch or worse... but that's normal. I look at how far I've come over these years and how much I've grown as a person mentally and physically. Any obstacle can be overcome it's your mind telling you otherwise! Just remember that through your own journey. It is hard, it will ALWAYS be hard but your inner happiness and self is worth changing for. This fitness "stuff" isn't for everyone, but it is the way to a longer healthier and happier life. I will keep going, those who don't understand my journey well there's a reason it's my own one. My purpose is to keep inspiring and pushing other females! We're in this together. Stay positive 😘 --

Discipline over motivation every damn time. After a day of work, more times than not, I find it very difficult to drag my ass to the gym to do what I need to do. I am not motivated. I rarely ever have "motivation" but I am disciplined. Keep showing up, keep putting in the work and keep pushing past your limits and excuses.

Yesterday I pulled 245 deadlift after a month off from weightlifting and I was pretty happy with myself. I went on and spent another 2 hours at the gym just because I was amped and ready to be there. Just get in the zone and let the motivation take over. 💪🏼

Woke up this morning, ate a GIANT bowl of peanut butter banana oats , and then crushed a push session at the gym. Before doing chest press I realized I had grabbed heavier dumbbells on accident and I just said "f*** it, lets go for a PB today" and what do you know. I lifted 30lb dumbbells for 2 sets of 10. That may seem light to some of you but to me after being in prep for so long and being weak, today I felt STRONG! I started smiling and was happy throughout the rest of my workout. I needed that boost of confidence to get me through these next 4 weeks of prep. I have 4 lbs away from accomplishing this for that third time. .
Do I tell you this to "impress you"?? NO! I tell you this to "show you", to "connect with you". .
E.V.E.R.Y.T.I.M.E I have a baby 👶🏼🤰🏼and my stomach has been cut open, I am exhausted, I am depleted I have to convince myself that I can come back better every•single•time!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
My secret?? It is something I call a "TIMELINE".....It is something I have my girls in my Academy do as well....If you don't know your timeline you will fail. 😔🤔
Why is a "Timeline" so important?? This timeline my friends is what will help you determine what you want. You will understand where you are and HOW LOOOOONG it might take you to get there!! .
For me I understood to lose 50 lbs it would take me 8 months. ✨WOW✨
That is 8 months, 33 weeks at losing 1.5 lbs a week!! .
If I failed to set this timeline then when I didn't hit my goals in a "timely manner" or an unrealistic timeline that would immediately discourage me and probably cause me to quit! .
People quit NOT because they don't want it but because they come to a place where the EFFORT does not match the RESULT!🤷🏼♀️
Who would move forward when the effort doesn't match the results you are looking for?? N O O N E! .
If you understand how long it will take you then you will understand your process and you will not fail!! .

Definitivamente todos los que hacemos este deporte es porque lo amamos, en lo personal, puedo decir que no todos los días (nunca) me levanto emocionada pensando en los 4 pedazos de tilapia que me tengo que comer, PERO cuando llega el momento de subirse al escenario y ves el resultado final, el trabajo duro, y todos los cambios físicos y mentales que has tenido te das cuenta que "el sacrificio" lo es TODO, y no puedes esperar para comenzar el siguiente reto donde quieres mejorar y trabajar aún más duro para conseguir una mejor versión que la anterior. - I am my only competition.
No es fácil y el que te diga que lo es esta mintiendo, o es de otro planeta, PERO las satisfacciones son mayores que los obstáculos eso si te lo garantizo. Como siempre digo "Se sufre pero como se goza" así que con todas 💪💪 .

Just a little FYI... -- Real men don't care about stretch marks are some cellulite. I thinks it more of women judging and comparing themselves to other females. If you have a man in your life that cares about that, you have a boy that doesn't understand basic female genetics. -- If you're comparing yourself to other women you see in magazines or instagram pleeeassseeee understand your comparing yourself to someone that's photoshopped. I've worked and been around some "insta famous" models that have cellulite and stretch marks in real life. Their pictures on Instagram hardly represent what they truly look like. -- Understand what's in your control and what's not. -- Understand that most of people's insecurities come from our projections of what we think others judgments of ourselves are. -- Fun fact: 90% of females have cellulite....the other 10% are liars 😂 -- Be kind to yourself. I'm not a huge fan of this "just love yourself" talk because I do believe it's important to be real with yourself as well and make appropriate changes if needed , but it's important to appreciate what your body does for you...the good and the "bad." -- Treat your body well and for the love of sweet baby Jesus, stop comparing yourself to others. As the great Theodore Roosevelt once said "comparison is the thief of joy." -- I don't say this because I want social brownie points (I would like an actual brownie though) but because I see and hear a lot of unwarranted suffering over something that is natural. If I'm talking out of school, I apologize but I thought it might be something to hear from a different point of view. -- Our bodies are amazing machines that have evolved over thousands of years in which we should be in awe of the improbable chance that we are who we are...not nitpicked because of societal standards of beauty. -
