Hey, guys, it's Mika, and Ive decided decided to change from a TVD account to an activism account. With everything going on in the world, social media is a large platform to inform people about everything that's going on in the world, and how they can help. My goal is not to shove any of my beliefs down your throat, by rather open your eyes to the ugly in the world so you can try to help eliminate that. I will say now that I'm not a perfect activist. No one is. And I'm here to learn and grow along with you 💖
•Ideal (n)- a person or thing regarded as perfect; a standard of perfection; a principle to be aimed at.
•Indoctrination (n)- the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.
Poverty, Inc is a documentary about... you guessed it: poverty, but poverty more so focused in Haiti and Africa. This film also talks a good bit about foreign aid, NGOs, charities, social entrepreneurship and the like - and how these seemingly well intentioned acts and institutions can actually do more harm than good to the developing nations in the long run. However, this is not to say that we should not help our brothers and sisters in far away lands when a devastating natural disaster happens.
This clip, I thought, gave nice insight into seemingly "beautiful" and "good" things, things most people wouldn't think twice about, like the real impact of this song and songs like this or the perpetuation of this idea that Africa needs our help, that we are their hero, that they are hopeless, and we can help them by giving them free stuff simply because they are "poor" and the country is shit without the West. Poverty, Inc also sheds light on innovators and technicians in Africa and Haiti, and the problems they face because of subsidies and external forces. According to the film, what these impoverished nations need are means to make their own money. "No one here wants to be a beggar for life, aid has made the people lazier." "Countries don't develop on aid."
I definitely recommend watching this documentary, which you can find on Netflix. I certainly got a lot of insight into my very own indoctrination about Africa, our Mother Land, and the ideals I held that I thought were irrefutable but actually held much deeper repercussions.
In conclusion, I think you should watch it and determine for yourself exactly how western culture indoctrination and ideas affect the rest of the world. Awareness is key, knowledge is power, and it is up to each and every individual to make this world a better place for everyone.
#MelaninMonday is a flashback from L'Asile, Haiti! Black Doctors Matter! I went on the trip last year to deliver materials and food collected after Haiti went through another awful storm, Hurricane Matthew. If you know anything about Haitians, we're RESILIENT. I was so happy to see so many of my people still in good spirits even after so much damage and I was happy that I could DO something about it. We are going back this year and would appreciate any donations that be given to get to our goal! We're serving 500 school children with backpacks, school supplies, clothing and hygiene! $25 FILLS A BACKPACK! Click the link in the bio to donate! If you're in the Atlanta area, contact us to find out where our donation boxes are located! Thanks in advance for the support! #juliesmeraki

So I am sharing most of the syncs, signs, messages that I saw & experienced with such amazement starting from September 20th ( the New Moon in Pisces , the Sun in Libra on the 22nd - 1st day of Fall up to September 24th- the Autumn Equinox.... Amazing signs from seeing the flock of over 100 birds at my neighbors home and then flying over to my front lawn on 09/20, then my daughter having her own unique experience with the birds visiting with her too, actual signs w the Union Church on the Tappan Zee bridge on the 20th, Serendipity, 111, Twiins on 09/23- the morning of taking Charlize for the audition, Unity 2 on the license plate in Harlem & Union sign on the storefront in Harlem the same day, 444 w Jay Z at w42nd street, Equinox sign in lower Manhattan that evening.
The main messages that I have been receiving is assisting Humanity from Duality Consciousness to Unity Consciousness... the microcosmic aspect of God thru US is integrating and acclimating our higher selves with new relationship DNA codes that is bringing US into balance for both masculine & Feminine. Shifts from old relationship patterns from poverty consciousness to Wealth Consciousness...combining Spiritual awareness with Physical experiences... #autumnequinox2017#equinox#autumnequinox#poverty#wealth#truewealth#soulintegration#truemarriages#newyork#suninlibra#newmooninvirgo#divinepartnerships#unity#union#unionofsouls#42ndstreet#harlemny#444#111#555#balance#bryantpark#path#findingbalance#omg#amazing#syncsoffthechain

If there's one thing the election did, it's that it brought poverty to the forefront of our conversations. Middlemore Hospital intensive care specialist David Galler sees the effects of poverty and overcrowded, damp houses in the patients that come in with a multitude of preventable diseases every day. "What we're doing now is not making us happier, it's not making us better... and it's not the New Zealand way," he says, speaking to Finlay Macdonald in this week's issue. 📷 Charles Buenconsejo.
