leading bioluminescent kayaking trips never gets old! I love when someone sees the "glowing water" for the first time... hearing the awe in everyone's voices and the excited shouts from other boats as they move their paddles through the water or splash water onto their arms in order to activate the biolum.

Day 4 of #TrueMermaids brings us to #birddog pose. This is one of my favorite poses when I'm warming up, feeling sleepy, or just looking for *just* the right amount of "work" in my practice. There are so many variations you can play with, from crossing one leg behind the body for a side stretch and stability, to crunching the arms and legs together as you "cat pose" your back for a strengthening exercise, to binding hand and foot for a flexy pose. In this photo, I've chosen an easier, modified version, which is great for stability if you're new to doing yoga on water. Below, I'll provide instructions for the full variation. 🌙✨⭐️💛
🐠Start in a table top position with shoulders directly above the hands and hips above the knees, pressing the tops of the feet onto the mat.
🐳Stabilize the core by engaging the abs, glutes, and thighs. Make sure the tummy is drawn up tight! 🐟If you're doing this pose on a paddle board, try bringing the grounded leg into the center of your mat/board slightly for better balance. 🐬Slowly release one leg straight back bringing it parallel to the mat, heel flexed. Release the OPPOSITE hand out in front of you reaching for the top of the mat/board, palm facing in. You've created one straight long line from fingertips to heel. 💙

You put your left foot in.
You put your left foot out.
You put your left foot in and you shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about. 😂
Beachcombing is one of my most favorite things ever. Unfortunately, it involves lots of bending, which is tricky to do when you're walking around with a hardware store in your back. 🔩 I bought this little sifter gadget to help minimize the bending. I'd love to tell you that it's been super helpful and great for my back. But truthfully? I'm too embarrassed to use it. I keep it with my beach stuff, but my vanity always wins out. 😳 On the bright side, I end up doing lots of squats, which I guess ends up being another victory for my vanity. 😂
Seriously though, if you have any kind of back issue, this type of thing is great. It's actually a kids beach toy - I found mine for about $10 on @Amazon.

Sunset at Mallory Square. There were a few people there but not many. Afterwards, came back to the house we are staying with & just finished making dinner in time for the power to go out. In was only out for a matter of minutes but cheering could be heard down the street & I was just about to use it as a good excuse to go to bed early. Well know I'm going to have to stay up way too late & regret it in the morning!
