"God arm him with strength and make his way perfect. Make his feet like those of a deer and give him sure footing on high places."
To reach the summit we must progress under our own power, one foot at a time. There are always those stronger and faster than us, and those further along the trail. But what is more important, reaching the summit or being in awe of those ahead of us?
We cannot be free and strong if we worship another, or are the pupil of another, or look for answers anywhere but inside ourselves. We must move ourselves toward the summit. No one can do it for us. Then why do we care more about those ahead of us than ourselves? The life of the athlete, the spiritual guru, the adventurer, or master or celebrity. Why are we willing to worship these figures and not ourselves? They are content to live their lives and follow their passions. While most of us conform to society's expectations, to the authority of "experts" or appointed leaders. We give up our dreams in fear of stepping outside the herd, afraid to fail in the process of forging our own path. Perhaps we do not even know what our dreams are, never having excavated the depths of our soul.
We can each of us reach our own summits. It is the same for everyone. By walking our own path, finding strength within, trusting in ourselves, placing one foot in front of the other.
Faye and I took a trip to Calgary yesterday and stopped off at the mall. Malls are the worst! I felt so out of my element. Thankfully, we are back in the mountains now 😅 I think I'll stick with shopping online haha 📸: @fayealice22
It has taken me days to distill the the weekend into words. I tried to run 100 miles; I didn't.
It wasn't from lack of trying, training, or support. Unfortunately, my left foot decided to no longer bear my weight and I continued until the right leg gave out under the stress of moving alone.
Now, I get to focus on recovery. #IMTUF100 will be there for years to come and I'm looking forward to crossing that finish line.
I paid money for this photo because it shows quite well how stoked I was on Saturday! Now that my walking has returned to normal the memory of the pain in my thighs is fading. I don't think I'll forget soon how amazing that day felt in my head. I do love skyruninng!
After last weekends race it's obvious I've been lazy with hill work so putting in a bit of effort before Brecon Beacons in 2 weeks - maybe a little too late but better now than never while I'm fit and healthy

You're running. It's freezing. There's snow all around you. You happen across a spring coming straight off the mountain. Do you:
a) carefully step over it and continue on your merry way.
b) leap over and hope you don't slip in
c) stick your head in it?
