My choice of main at the brand new venture by @chefneilperry (who happened to be dining last night) 🥂 The spaghetti alle vongole at @rosettaristorante 👌🏻 Although it was delicious, I do agree with fellow foodie @see.taste.do in that there are some kinks to iron out with service. We were left far too long between courses and had to ask more than once for our wine to be replenished. The dish itself was beautiful but these looked more like pipis than vongole to me, luckily I love both 🍝

[ SPAGHETTI + MEATBALLS ] And the crowd goes WILD!!! My kids ❤️ Spaghetti and Meatballs. I've perfected our house meatball recipe over the past few years and we've settled on the following ingredients: grass fed ground beef, ground pork, an egg, parm cheese, bread crumb, oregano, parsley, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. I bake my meatballs (as opposed to frying them). Then I dunk 'em in the sauce to deepen the flavor of the sauce. 🍝🍝🍝 #itswhatsfordinner#meatballs#spaghetti#yum#instafood#momlife#italianfood
My homemade Passata Recipie 🍝🍅 (not the most photogenic shot)
Basically the other half hates everything I put in this recipie. Apparently his dad's bolognese is the only one he will eat. So I rose to the challenge 🙌 he will only eat passata as it's blended tomatoes.. I wasn't gonna buy it when I have tins of chopped toms! 😐 I used small amounts of veggies in this recipie to see if it would work - next time I'm going to increase it & try add red peppers - apparently he despises them!
Fry in olive oil: 1/2 chopped yellow onion, 1 chopped garlic clove, 1 chopped large celery stem.
When browned add 1 500g tin chopped toms, 1/3 tin water, 2 heaped tbsp tomatoe puree, 1tsp paprika, 1 tsp mixed dry herbs, large handful fresh basil leaves. Boil lightly. Leave to simmer til soft. Leave to cool.
BLEND til smooth.
Then just fry your 500g mince whenever as usual and add the passata. (I added spinach at this point as he actually likes it). - if it's too runny just add some cornflour 😊 mine didn't need it... He wolfed half his bowl down before I'd even sat down! 😱 plus we left only 1tbsp bolognese which I kept for Mondays snack! - it was divine - shocked myself 😉
