#strength consisted of #backsquat it was def not my day, legs were straight up destroyed only hit 405lb for 3x3x2x1 with about 2 min rest between sets. Programming called for about 20lb heavier but there was no way that was gonna happen. 
#conditioning consisted of a 10 miles on the #assualtbike on this one you bike at a #uncomfortable pace, at the distances of 3.5, 6.1, 7.6, and 8.9 you get one minute of a relaxed pace. (26:08 ending up being 334 calories have at it and you'll definitely understand how the demons will take possession of your body πŸ˜‚) #metcon was 3R of 10 #deadlift at 275lb, 2 #legless rope climbs, and 20 #ghdsitups (8:11)

From our earlier post, we really encourage everyone to move as much as possible to help with bad posture. If you can't, remember there are a bunch of corrective exercises you can perform. Deadlifts will always have my heart ❀️ Today I decided to work up to 67.5kg for 10x3 paused deadlifts = PB! Which was a great idea at the time, but man I'm already sore. Oh by the way, a 2 liter of water plus a lever belt during deads isn't a good idea... I almost didn't make it πŸ˜‚ #happyfriday

Gotta step steady with the iron. Gotta earn your keep. Since I only have about 30min a day to train I have to keep it real simple. Pick 4 exercises, try to stay in a push pull manner and do as many rounds as possible. Simple, not easy.

Yesterday when I was benching, a fellow gym goer approached me and asked #WhyIArch. This made me berry happy - he said that he had never seen anyone do that before and that he was legitimately curious because βœ¨πŸŽ‰βœ¨there is always more to learn.βœ¨πŸŽ‰βœ¨Why yes sir, there is! Thank you kind gym stranger for not negatively approaching something new and sharing this positive mindset with me. I also strongly believe that each individual always has more to learn and room for improvement, no matter how skilled one may become in his or her respective trade(s). There are always new ways to refine our techniques and always aspects of life that we may not ever expect to encounter. 
Powerlifting really has taught me some life lessons and this is one of them. Stop living life with the mindset that "this is just how I am" and that "people don't change". This way of thinking prohibits growth. We live in a dynamic environment so to grow we must also be constantly moving and willing to adapt. Don't be afraid to question things. Don't be afraid to change how you do or see things. Don't be narrow minded and you won't get stuck.

I would still lift if I didn't see the results like I wanted, it's in my nature. Some things in life you just can't explain. Some things don't need explaining. All that matters is I love lifting weights and I love every part of the lifestyle that comes with it. 
It's amazing seeing what you can do when you follow your heart, that's why I constantly preach to do what you love, whatever makes you happy, just follow your heart. You'll end up with your head held high and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

When I was working the Irvington High School Football team after their practice, I find that many of the boys are limited in their ankle range of motion (ROM) especially dorsiflexion. Having limited ROM in the ankle can hinder their performance such as the able to push off and land efficiently.

β–ͺ️Start my placing your calf on a roller.
β–ͺ️Slowly work your way up and down until you find a tender spot.
β–ͺ️Apply over pressure with the opposite leg and SLOWLY ROCK SIDE TO SIDE.
β–ͺ️Then start moving the ankle up/down and in a circular motion.
β–ͺ️Be sure to get the INNER AND OUTER part of the calf.
β–ͺ️Perform this for 2-3 mins per leg.

Calf Release - When I was working the Irvington High School Football team after their practice, I find that many of the boys are limited in their ankle range of motion (ROM) especially dorsiflexion.
