Something I can't stand about the recovery community is the hypocrisy and lies. If you don't act what you preach, it's hypocritical. If you're calling someone out for eating something low fat and you go and eat halo top ice cream, that's not right. If you post a big night snack but are actually restricting the entire day or compensating with exercise, you aren't recovering. An eating disorder is as much mental as it is physical. If you don't change how you think and act, you'll never recover. While I worry about those of you that still exhibit these symptoms, I can't tell you anything but to suck it up and recover. There's no getting around it. If you want to be healthy and happy, you need to recover. If you need help, get it. There's no shame in asking for help, only in the fact that you are too embarrassed to ask for what you need.

When I was young I was called big boned or chubby. I was made to feel that my weight made me less attractive. After I had my daughter I over heard people talking about how I got fat and fell off. I starting starving myself and if I did eat I would binge eat and throw up. I weighed 105 lbs which I have never been, even in middle school. Everyone told me how great I looked and people were proud of me. proud of what? Proud that I was skinny? Skinny meant healthy, right? little did they realize I was very very sick and very unhealthy. My husband and I dated in high school, so when we got back together he made it his mission to thicken me back up. Through his love and appreciation of my body...because he really LOVES my body! I too started to LOVE my body. I've gotten it before, but not in awhile, but I received some negative vibes this morning after I posted my morning progress photo to MY OWN social media links.. Something that I have been doing for some time now, but 1 Negative Nancy/Nelly decided to speak their opinion..Which is fine..
But if you didn't see my rant on insta/snapchat I went on to go about how I do progress photos in the a.m for my OWN goals & journey. (Check my snap/insta story for more) I like to keep MYSELF accountable, as well as inspire others & this is the way I do er.. So just lemme be pluhease & spanks😝
Just goes to show that not everyone is supporting of our journeys (which is truly unfortunate, support is always essential) but that's their opinion, & everyone is entitled to one of course! Buttttt, as the old saying goes "If you don't have something nice to say, than don't say anything at all" 🙂Just keep it to yourself & continue on with your day, don't ruin others right?!..Ahhh, if only we could teach others to empower one another versus try & demolish.. So here's a throwback (about 6 months ago) when I was at my lowest weight I can recall since like 8th grade. This really didn't have much to do with fitness and being healthy. In reality I was just having a bad time with personal life things and it took a toll on my stress levels (made me less hungry and had me turning to long cardio sessions to distract myself). At this current point, I am no longer this tiny. I've leveled back out and gained some weight. It's a good thing and I feel healthy even though I do still struggle with finding balance between over & under consumption sometimes. There are days where I really have beaten myself up lately because I don't look like this anymore and it feels a little like failure - but in those moments I'm ignoring the obvious which is that at my lowest weight, I wasn't any happier. It can be so easy to get in the mindset that skinnier = better life (and I'm not saying that getting in shape can't improve quality of life, because it can and it has for me) - but I know that I don't have to be the smallest version of myself to be the happiest version of myself. Some days you just have to remind yourself of that .
After eating so much food half rice every meal (rice cooker measurements) and loads of meat for a year weight gain diet. This is by far I gained- maintained the 68kg and cannot reach 75kg. #weightgain#gym#workout
In the last few months, we stopped drinking coffee completely and switched to chai. We are trying different tea flavors and lately this Tulsi ginger tea has become our favorite. ..

I often see "transformation" photos of people, it's always of them losing a lot of weight. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing others being healthier and happier with their appearance, but today I'm showing my very different version of a transformation.
Over the years I have gained over 50 pounds. It's not something I tend to talk about, because who wants to gain weight? I'm not going to say I love my body and I'm comfortable with my weight, but I honestly don't think I ever will be.
The thing is, in high school my mental health issues started to take a toll on me. I have always been self conscious about my appearance, but these mental illnesses made me even more insecure. I started exercising excessively. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing because I became fit and lost some weight, but the truth is, I didn't feel any better about myself.
Towards the end of my grade 12 and my departure to Sudbury, I hit rock bottom. I barely worked out because I didn't care anymore. In that year, I gained 15 pounds, but I didn't care.
Then I moved back home, and actually put my mental health first. I got an amazing and fulfilling job at Fatima that I adored, I started school at Confederation College in a program that is right for me, and I moved to Thunder Bay where I feel at home. The last year and half I have gained 40 pounds, but I'm the happiest I have ever been in my life.
One day I would like be at a healthier weight and be in shape again; but for now I'm content with being active again and maintaining my weight, as well as continuing to concentrate on my mental health. Of course I would love to be fit and small like the girl on the left, but I was miserable then and I don't regret putting my mental health over everything else including my physical health.
