- Look at this black rhino calf—frisky and curious, ears pointing my way as I watch its mother laboriously raising herself. Only one of her ears is pointing in my direction. The other one is checking what is happening behind her. Rhinos rely on their sharp sense of hearing and an acute sense of smell to make up for not seeing very well. In

We've all had the pleasure of accidentally walking through a spider web, right? You can't really help it...well the same goes for wildlife and the fake spider webs we use to decorate! Be mindful when you use these and think of the birds and other wildlife that might become entangled 🦉#wildliferehab#wildlife#halloween#birds

On a hike last night into @rockynps we found a moose family. We believe this is one of the calf twins we saw on the day they were born back in May. #wildlife#colorado#coloradowildlife#wildlifephotography#moose @goparks @gorving @defendersofwildlife @rangerrickmags @nationalwildlife @nationalparkservice @nationalparkgeek @coparkswildlife @coloradolifemagazine @visitestespark @visitcolorado @usinterior
Himalayan balsam. This invasive species is literally everywhere. On my walk today it lined the walkways up and down. As a kid I used to pop the pods and watch the seeds explode in my hands and onto the floor. That was before I knew more about them, I don't do that anymore. I've seen over the years groups of people work together to pull them out, but no matter how much you try to get rid of it, it always bounces back. Their smell poured into the air today as I walked through their tunnels and bees seemed to enjoy them. Are they a controversial topic in the conservation world? Native vs alien species is ongoing.
This little one was a perfect poser up at St. Mark's Summit 🐿 He looks just like the chipmunk emoji!! 😜
