With all the recent tragedies happening around us it could be easy to simply lose hope for the future. I know I've felt this hopelessness when I catch myself deep in my thoughts.
But we must stay positive while learning the most valuable lesson that tragedies want to teach us: ENJOY YOUR LIFE.
You got only this one chance to be happy and make the most out of what surrounds you. Don't waste it... whatever you do, don't waste it.
Take this new day as an opportunity to do that thing you always wanted to do. Do it today, tomorrow might never come!
Much love ❤
Running a few risks with this suit and tie combo by choosing to play with patterns and textures while keeping colors very sober and dark.
So here's the challenge for you: This week go beyond your comfort zone, take risks, break some rules, mess it up, learn and elevate your style!
That's what it is all about. 👊👔 #edruiz#mensweardaily#suitedup
It's been a while since the last time I took the time to honestly and personally thank you all for being there and for your constant support.
I know I can seem a bit absent sometimes (specially with those who try to engage with me via DMs...), but do know that I'm always grateful for the fact that you take time to send me those messages. It means a lot and I have no words to express how incredibly lucky I am.
So thanks again everyone. Have an amazing Friday and a fun weekend. Enjoy it! ❤
And now for your close up, here is a navy + burgundy striped tie paired with a plain white pocket square.
As someone said once: simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.
You know.... he was right. ☝
It feels good to be back in my suit and tie. 👔👔👔 In this ensemble I am wearing a few awesome accessories by some cool, dapper brands, so make sure you tap once to get to know them and twice to like!
A new blog post is coming to the blog today, so make sure you catch the stories I will post throughout the day. ☝
Some more casual vibes from my trip last week.
I admit I didn't miss the suit and tie those days but don't worry, the usual dapper combos are coming back soon 👔😎 If you'd like me to keep sharing this tyoe of casual outfits more often let me know in the comments here!
Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!
It's good to be back after a week in paradise, aka Mayan Riviera. 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 This is a casual look from those days.
Here's an example of how a shirt with rolled up sleeves can go perfectly in such casual situations without being too casual or too dressy.
Let me know what you think of this type of casual outfits!
I rarely post shoe-centric images, so this is kind of an exception. But what a cool exception it is! 👞👞👞 These beautiful brogues by @beckettsimonon are a great somewhat more casual alternative to my more common oxfords.
And damn, are they comfortable! (That is obviously expected from handmade made shoewear, of course). And guess what? They're currently running an awesome giveaway on their site. You don't wanna miss it. Stay tuned for the story I will be posting later today as I'll share the link there or you can go to my Facebook where I will also post it. 🙌
Sometimes too much color can be overwhelming and we look for a foolproof and effective color combination without any overthinking.
That's when a basic color palette can be just the right thing.
Here is an example of a suit and tie combo based on gray and blue with some silver accents for good measure. Pretty basic in terms of color, although I didn't miss the opportunity to have fun with patterns and a very unconcerned pocket square fold.
As you can see, no wild, bright or bold colors are needed to put together a remarkable outfit.
I do sometimes try to dress it up while staying a bit casual (the humid weather these days can be a good reason why!) A plain white dress shirt with a tall collar paired with a patterned jacket and brightly colored pocket square gives this look enough personality so that the missing tie does not detract from it, in fact, it keeps it well balanced.
Try this for a dressed up casual (I know, the oxymoron haha) look and keep your daily ensembles fresh and unpredictable. 👊
Wearing matching ties and pocket squares is technically a no-no and many menswear purists will warn you against this.
And I happen to be part of this consensus, although I'll agree there can be some exceptions.
Here is a good alternative. Match the color of your tie and pocket square, but make sure one of these two pieces has a different texture or visible pattern. This way these two items will go nicely together and you won't be going against any sartorial rules. ☝
