Janu Sirsasana! One of my favorite asanas... I posted a video about Janu C a couple of days ago... but if you're curious about learning these poses more in depth, check out my classes on @yogaacademyinternational.

Made this little Janu Sirsasana C vid for my girl @abbey.yoga so I thought I'd share a few tips about the posture...
~ Janu C is the third in a series of poses where one knee is bent with the shin folded to the inside of the thigh. ~ In C, the foot is placed against the inner thigh of the other leg with the toes tucked under and the heel on top. ~ First off... you should only try this after being told by an instructor if you are new to the practice. Make sure you are comfortable with the asanas before this in the Primary series before. ~ You can take modifications without pressing the knee down and folding forward to start. *The funny thing is... about 3 years ago, right before my first trip to Mysore, I was in. Motorbike accident in Goa... I really thought I'd never be able to do poses like this again, since I had torn meniscus in my knee. The doctors wanted me to get surgery, but instead, I slowed down and modified my practice heavily. Now, the injured side is actualy easier to do then my "normal" side. Ahhh the healing powers of yoga!! (Practicing to all of Science Fiction, obviously... @brandnewrock)
Friday Primary day 🤗. Waking up late this week from my jet lagg hasn't made it easy to practice!! Looking to start an Ashtanga practice? You can start with me online with @yogaacademyinternational 🙌🏼 click the link in my bio for a free trial! #Kurmasana photo by the amazing @shawna.rodgers ❤️
The jet lag is really real 🙈. Not even enough energy to practice past my standing postures today... and I slept for about 13 hours 😂. Praying my kids yoga class this afternoon will jack me up for the rest of the evening!! 🤗🙌🏼🤷🏼♀️anyway here's surya Namaskara B very off centered 🤦♂️
I've been waiting for the perfect moment to post this pic taken on the Jersey Shore by @shawna.rodgers to do it justice! Pretty fitting for my final moments in the US. I'm on a flight home to Abu Dhabi where @kjfrederick and I will go into our 4th year abroad. I feel all sorts of anxiety (always when I travel 🙃) mixed a lot of warm feelings. Probably to do with the champagne here on @etihadairways 🤷🏼♀️🦄🙌🏼❤️. I really do feel like the luckiest yogi in the world to be surrounded by the best family and friends in all of North America 🙈. I guess it's pretty normal to feel like two places will always be home right?... Abu Dhabi, I'll be back soon. America/Canada I'll be back a little bit later, but still soon enough. ❤️
Marichasana D @chicagoashtangayoga with my Mysore bestie @sleek.chameleon!!! We've been to 3 KPJAYI trips together but this is the first time we're united in America!! Loving Chicago so far 😍🙌🏼. Thanks for the pic @todd_boman ❤️👯😘

We will focus on the Vinyasa; linking breath to movement. The asanas will be broken down for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. We will discuss and practice the opening and closing Sanskrit mantras, working on meditation and breath work, along with the philosophy that goes along with the practice. At the end there will be enough time for a Q & A. Looking forward to meeting all of you in person. Workshop will be taught in English.
